Our hurricane candles are a sturdy wax shell that is 5 inches in diameter and approximately 8 inches tall that sets over either a tea light or candle in a glass or an electric lamp for illumination. The hurricane candle let's you enjoy its beauty without destroying the design on the exterior of the wax shell. If properly cared for, a hurricane shell will last for years.
We drill an opening in the base of the hurricane shell which is large enough that it will set over the glass provided so the candle can be lit and then the shell placed over it, eliminating the need to reach down inside the shell to light it. This opening also keeps the glass centered so it does not get too close to the edge and melt it. We place the candle on a stand which protects the surface on which it is place and also allows for some circulation of air around the inner votive glass or lamp.
The hurricane candle should be stored away from heat and cold as it can cause decorations to release from the surface on some candles. All hurricanes come with a stand. Electric candles will have a lamp to be fastened to the stand. Replace with a 5 watt silicone bulb.
All electric candles come complete with 2 silicone bulbs.
Regular hurricanes come with a filled votive glass and 1 candle refill - fragrance of your choice.
