Kids love to play in the Tot Tents!

Young children always like a hideaway and a place just their size. Themes for the tents center around the interests of children. They are great to play in, to just sit and read, or for developing their imagination. We also like to call them “A Child’s Dream House”.

Tots Tents involve the entire Marquardt family.

	Alice Marquardt started crafting as a way to use her creative skills and to relax after a day in the high school classroom, where she taught Home Economics for 30 years. In the late 70s she decided to use her maiden name, Wicks, in her business name, and had expanded her candle business to include Tots Tents. So her business became known as Wicks 'n Things. She has tried other crafts over the years but candles and tents have continued to be most popular.
	Alice does the designing and sewing. Her husband, Lawrence, helps with the cutting of fabric, adds poles to the finished tents and takes care of packaging and shipping. Their son Kent does the woodwork for the tent poles. He does the sawing, routing and sanding of them.
	Gail Marquardt Hodges, their daughter, doesn’t get involved with the actual making of the tents but gets to use them. Her students enjoy the finished products in her elementary school classroom. They like to read in them and sometimes good behavior earns them time in the tent!
